The ongoing period of lockdown means that individuals and families are spending longer periods of time together, in isolation, leading to increased intolerance, stress and escalation of conflicts. When arguments get out of control or escalate, it can lead to frightening and unsafe situations.
This guidance offers some tips for ways to de-escalate or calm these kinds of situations and can be used by practitioners, and parents, young people and children.
