Multi Agency reports to Child Protection Conferences- new template and guidance
The partnership recognises how important the decision is as to whether a child is made subject to a Child Protection Plan. Section 3 of Working Together 2023 is clear that the multi-agency participation in this process is essential, both for ensuring the right decision is made, but also that the child and family are getting the right intervention and support from the right people and services. As part of this process, professionals are required to produce a report prior to all conferences, which should be shared with the family before the conference. A multi agency report has been designed to ensure parents are receiving a consistent quality of reports by a variety of agencies. This was produced in conjunction with input from a variety of multi-agency partners, to ensure the format is suitable for agencies to report the key information, for all family members. The report is for both ICPC’s and RCPC’s and is for all aged children, including Unborn Babies.

A guidance document has also been produced to provide additional support when completing the multi-agency report. This will help guide all partners who are new to writing such reports, so that the reports being produced are addressing all the issues, in a cohesive format.
Guidance for Completing Multi Agency Reports for Child Protection Conferences
As of 1st July 2024, the Child Protection Administration team CPConferenceAdmin@oxfordshire.gov.uk will be distributing all agency’s reports to all other professionals ONLY. It remains the responsibility of each agency to share their reports with the family prior to the conference. These bundles of professional reports will be distributed at 10 am the day before the conference is being held, no matter what time the conference is due to be held. This will enable professionals to have read all agency’s reports prior to the conference, so that they are aware of all available information relating to the whole family and ensure that Conference members are able to make a fully informed decision around which plan is most appropriate for the child.
If a professional’s report has not been received by this time it will then be the responsibility of the agency to distribute it to all those other professionals invited to the conference, securely.
