Protecting children from neglect in Oxfordshire

Date: Tuesday, 06th Dec 2022 | Category: General

Neglect is when parents or carers are not meeting the basic needs of their children.

It could be that they are not in warm enough clothes, that they are ignored and not nurtured enough or perhaps they are not getting to school or to doctor’s appointments on a consistent basis… so much so that it impacts on how they are growing and developing as a child.

Check out the NSPCC information on why this is a safeguarding issue or download one of their Core Info documents to make sure you know the facts.

We know we can make a difference for children in Oxfordshire, when we better understand what ‘neglect’ is and how to help families meet the needs of children.
