NSPCC free online training for those regularly visiting homes during COVID-19

Date: Wednesday, 13th May 2020 | Category: General

The NSPCC are temporarily making their Safeguarding awareness training for workers who enter people’s homes online course free to access to support anyone who enters or visits people’s homes to recognise the signs of abuse and neglect and know what to do to protect a child during this challenging time.

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing measures, children and young people are spending much more time at home and isolation can put some children at a greater risk of abuse and neglect.

Postal workers, delivery drivers and workers who regularly visit homes are well placed to spot any emerging safeguarding concerns or signs of possible abuse and neglect.

This short interactive course takes around 15 minutes and will help you to:

  • recognise the signs of possible child abuse and neglect
  • report concerns either through your work channels, the NSPCC helpline or, if the concern is urgent, the police
  • support those who may have already witnessed signs of child abuse and provide advice
