Meeting the needs of disabled children

Over the last 12 months our child safeguarding practice reviews have shown that we need to be mindful of the needs of disabled children, when supporting families who are not currently meeting the needs of their children.

Research evidence indicates that disabled children are more likely to suffer neglect than their peers but that they are less likely to be subject to Child Protection Plans under the category of neglect.
