Learning Event 29th Nov: Child Exploitation, Violence and Vulnerability

Date: Thursday, 31st Oct 2019 | Category: General

Booking is now open for the above Learning Event on Fri the 29th of November.

Tackling child criminal exploitation requires a step change in thinking which sets out to identify, protect and support exploited children. Victims may not be known to local agencies as potentially being at risk of harm.

Victims are often perceived as criminals, when they have been exploited and need support to exit their involvement in illegal activities. Many children are unaware they are being exploited, due to tactics employed by perpetrators.

This learning event aims to give delegates an understanding of the national and local context.

Speakers will cover the local picture on knife crime, work to map vulnerable children and young people and the partnership response to the presenting issues. The keynote speaker, Junior Smart from St Giles SOS and SOS+ Project, will cover the national context, practical tools and strategies and good practice.

This session is for multi-agency practitioners such as frontline workers and volunteers from a wide-range of settings including education, health, housing, police, social care, early help, voluntary sector.

There is free parking at the venue and refreshments will be provided.
