Free energy advice and extra support available during power cuts

As the distribution network operator in Oxfordshire Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are responsible for the powerlines and underground cables, and SSEN are who residents would need to contact in the event of a power cut locally.

Their Priority Services Register is available to help support vulnerable customers during prolonged power cuts, and you can register if you:

 • Are deaf or hard of hearing

• Have a disability

• Live with children under five

• Are blind or partially sighted

• Have a chronic illness

• Use medical equipment/aids reliant on electricity

• Are over 60

• Temporarily need extra support

 If anyone experiences a power cut they should report it on their emergency phone number 105. SSEN also have an app called Powertrack which you can report a power cut on and receive live updates.
