Education Subgroup

The Education sub group aims to ensure good lines of communication between the Education sector and the OSCB. The group meets every three months and its activities include:

  • Identifying and discussing strategic issues being raised by Educational establishments and where required, making suitable recommendations to the Executive group for action
  • Ensuring dissemination of Board messages and priorities to the Education sector
  • Monitoring Children Missing Education data and processes
  • Ensuring dissemination of best practice, Serious Case Review findings and relevant guidance
  • Picking up any training issues specific to the Education sector and feeding them into the Training Sub group
  • Being cognisant of issues from serious case reviews, national or local guidance which fall within the remit of the sub group
  • Reporting annually into the OSCB and contributing to the production of the OSCB Annual Report
