What it does
Details of what the board does
The key role of the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board is to co-ordinate what is done by each person or body represented on the Board for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in Oxfordshire.
It does this through ensuring the effectiveness of local arrangements in relation to areas such as child protection procedures, training, safe staff recruitment, managing allegations made by children and young people; undertaking and learning lessons from unexpected child deaths.
The Board also has a wider remit to ensure links with groups such as MAPPA, Oxfordshire Childrens Domestic Violence Steering Group, DAAT and the private and voluntary sector.
